The Side Events

While our primary focus is determining the top female and male teen bowlers through the demanding Teen Masters competition, we also offer a week packed with unique opportunities. These include additional clinics, competitions, parties, and events that promise to create unforgettable memories for you, our esteemed Teen Masters competitors! All side events are optional but strongly encouraged.

Kegel Lane Play Klinic

  • Saturday, June 29, at 1:00 pm and Sunday, June 30, at 9:00 am. (Participants may choose one or both)

  • An overview of the SKILL 3.02 bowling ball and two SKILL oil patterns.

  • Strategies for competing in the SKILL environment.

  • At least 1 hour of practice time with Gold Coach Del Warren available to answer individual questions.

  • Competitors may participate in one or both Klinics.

  • Each session is $50 in advance, increasing to $60 on June 23.

 

Special Olympics Unified Doubles

  • Saturday, June 29, at 3:00 pm.

  • Each Teen Masters bowler is partnered with a Special Olympian.

  • Everyone bowls two games. (SKILL 3.02)

  • Entry includes two commemorative T-shirts, including one to give to your Special Olympian partner.

  • $50 per person online in advance. It always sells out!

 

Welcome Party - Baker Team Challenge

  • Sunday, June 30, at 7:00 pm.

  • Everyone is STRONGLY encouraged to participate.

  • A blind draw will fill each team's roster with four bowlers. (SKILL 3.02)

  • The competition will consist of four (4) Baker-style games, with each bowler serving as lead-off for one (1) game.

  • $20 per person online in advance.

 

Double Trouble

  • Monday, July 1, at 7 pm and 8 pm.

  • Any two bowlers form a doubles team in male, female, and mixed divisions. Scholarships will be awarded to the top teams in each division. (SKILL 3.02)

  • Bowler A rolls game 1, while Bowler B rolls game 2.

  • Bowlers A & B roll game 3 Baker style.

  • Three-game totals determine standings.

  • Bowlers are limited to one scholarship award with the same doubles partner but may earn additional scholarships with different partners.

  • Bring your own partner, or we will help you find one before the competition starts.

  • $20 per person online in advance.

 

Stroke Play

  • Tuesday, July 2, at 7:00 pm.

  • Every roll of the ball counts as a stroke. (SKILL 3.02)

  • Each frame with a strike counts as 1.

  • Each frame with spare counts as 2.

  • Receive a penalty stroke for each pin left standing (example: 8, miss = 4 strokes).

  • Your two-game total determines the standings.

  • $20 per person online in advance.

 

Friends & Foes

  • Wednesday, July 3, at 7:00 pm.

  • Draw for lane assignments, four to a pair. (SKILL 3.02)

  • The bowlers on top are Friends: they bowl doubles against the two bowlers on the bottom.

  • Bowlers on top are also Foes: they bowl singles against each other.

  • 2 points are awarded to each team member for a doubles win and 1 point for each singles win.

  • $20 per person online in advance.

 

Match-Play Madness

  • Thursday, July 4, at 12:00 noon.

  • Draw for lane assignments, four to a pair. (SKILL 3.02)

  • High score on pair earns 30 bonus pins; 2nd earns 20, 3rd earns 10, and 4th earns 0.

  • Bowl three games and face nine different bowlers.

  • Top bowlers, including girls and boys, advance to the single-elimination knock-out bracket.

  • $20 per person online in advance.

Teen Masters Twilight Zone

(it's still the SKILL 3.02 ball and low-volume oil, but the scoring pace is in a world of its own)

  • Friday: Qualifying squads at 9 and 10 am. Shoot-out round immediately after.

  • Only those who missed the cut to match-play can participate.

  • Separate divisions for girls and boys.

  • Awards are based on the number of entries in each division.

  • Bowl one game. The top 25% of each squad advance to the shoot-out round.

  • $20 per person online in advance.
